All good things must come to an end. With that welcome to the final blog post! Take a look to see my reflection looking back at the course.

Here is an excerpt from my very first blog post: First impressions. Click here for the link!

The prompt of the excerpt was to explain my relationship with writing and reading, based on the class objectives.

Looking back, I still feel the same way about having to read books and write essays, yet I find myself more comfortable with executing when required to do so. This class taught me what a genre convention was, and which ones were significant to each genre. I have learned how to address a specific audience, based on knowing what the audience wants to see. Going forward, I will probably ALWAYS use "the boneyard, which is a section of sentences and phrases kept at the bottom of an essay, that may be incorporated into an essay. This was not taught to the class, but rather brought up by professor Delany-Ullman during my meeting regarding my Genre Analysis essay. It was briefly mentioned, and barely acknowledged, but will stick with me throughout all of my further writing classes.

A huge problem for me before I entered this class was procrastination. I never intentionally procrastinate, but I tend to give myself too many breaks, and typically prioritize my science and math classes as opposed to my writing classes. With this class there was so much work, that you could not procrastinate. You were almost forced against it. I did not figure this out until about week 6, and since then I have stayed more than on top of my work. I now have to go back and fix certain aspects of my website due to the minimal effort that was initially put in, but I am very confident that I have properly changed my website based on the suggestions given by the professor (homepage, artifacts, etc.). Since I have stayed on top of editing and further developing my work since week 6, I am confident that my memoir essay is turning out well.

It has been a pleasure developing my website and memoir essay, and can't wait until it has reached its final publication.

Lets celebrate a good finals week!
